I began attending Totton Health & Leisure Centre back in January 2015. Initially I wasn’t sure what to do or what to expect – like many, I thought I was never going to be able to juggle the challenge of shredding weight along with a hefty work schedule and looking after my children.
At the age of 22 my life was a world of numbers – calories, weight, meals and steps. A series of events in my life caused me to develop an eating disorder. I felt like I had very little control over my life and in the end found a form of control in food.
I had always been pretty active, albeit on the large side, with swimming a particular forte but that all came to a halt with the arrival of my second child 17 years ago after which the weight just piled on and on…
On Sunday 22 May, Totton Health and Leisure held their forth Big Spin event. Three months and a draw full of sponsorship forms later we can finally reveal that the final total stands at an incredible £18,224.16!
